Abstract

Der Aufsatz zeigt die Möglichkeit einer Ethik der Pflege im Anschluss an Martin Heidegger. Die Notwendigkeit eines solchen Unterfangens ergibt sich aus dem Heideggerschen Bekenntnis, dass die europäische Sprache und Rationalität im weitesten Sinne auf eine Weise des In-der-Welt-seins gegründet ist, eine Verhaltensweise, die er ‚Verstehen‘ nennt, und die ihre Ursprünge selbst in der religiösen Praxis der antiken Hermeneutik hat. Ausgehend von diesem Bekenntnis müssen nicht lediglich die Ansprüche von Theorie, sondern ebenso die einer auf Theorie aufbauenden Ethik der Pflege im Sinne einer Teildisziplin der Moralphilosophie zurücktreten. Denn jenseits technischer und metaphysischer Geltungsansprüche kann nur der Versuch einer seinsgeschichtlichen Bildung das Verstehen in ein verstehendes Verhältnis zu sich selbst, zur Welt und zum Andernführen, eine Methode der Besinnung, die als neu begriffene Ethik der Pflege ermöglichen soll, die pflegerische Praxis als Verstehenspraxis über ihre gegenwärtigen Formen der beruflichen Bestandssicherungsverfahren in ganzheitlichere und würdevollere Formen zu überführen.In this essay I shall show, how it is possible to develop an ethics of nursing from the thinking of Martin Heidegger. The necessity of such a project is fixed in light of the Heideggerian denomination, that European language and rationality are founded in a way of ‘Being-in-the world’, a behavior, which is called ‘Understanding’ and which has its origins in the religious practice of antique hermeneutics. Following this confession not only the pretensions of theory, but also those of a theoretical ethics of nursing as a branch of moral philosophy have to resign its positions. For beyond technical and metaphysical claims of validity remains merely the attempt of an education and cultivation in the light of the history of being to guide ‘Understanding’ to an understanding relationship to itself, to world and to the other. Therefore it is my suggestion to consider this way of reflexion as a new and methodical concept of an ethics of nursing. The hope is to convert the practice of nursing regarded as a practice of ‘Understanding’ from its contemporary forms of conservation and preservation of values to new more holistic and dignified ways of care
