Abstract

The author is Associate Professor in the Federated Theological Faculty, University of Chicago and Chicago Theological Seminary. This work is “a Protestant interpretation of the part Christians must play in the economic and social world if the Christian faith is not to lose its vitality”, as the cover–piece declares. The Author’s thesis is that there are many difficult, unsolved problems in society and that Christians are obliged to engage themselves seriously in them if genuine religious vitality is to be fostered.
