    Quantum logic revisited.L. Román & B. Rumbos - 1991 - Foundations of Physics 21 (6):727-734.
An adequate conjunction-implication pair is given for complete orthomodular lattices. The resulting conjunction is noncommutative in nature. We use the well-known lattice of closed subspaces of a Hilbert space, to give physical meaning to the given lattice operation.

    Difficulties and Perspectives of Parametrical Conception of Language.A. V. Paribok, R. V. Pskhu, G. V. Zashchitina, L. G. Roman & N. N. Danilova - 2021 - RUDN Journal of Philosophy 25 (2):340-348.
The article looks into the issues, outlined in M. Baker's The Atoms of Language: The Mind's Hidden Rules of Grammar. This work is notable for the parametric theory of the languages, set out in it, according to which languages are different, nevertheless retaining the ability to be compared. That can be further supported by the assertion that the differences among languages are determined by "a smallish number of discreet elements, called parameters."What is more, the diversity of language reveals a certain (...)

    Monoidal categories with natural numbers object.Robert Paré & Leopoldo Román - 1989 - Studia Logica 48 (3):361 - 376.
The notion of a natural numbers object in a monoidal category is defined and it is shown that the theory of primitive recursive functions can be developed. This is done by considering the category of cocommutative comonoids which is cartesian, and where the theory of natural numbers objects is well developed. A number of examples illustrate the usefulness of the concept.

    A History of Lost Tablets.L. Roman - 2006 - Classical Antiquity 25 (2):351-388.
This study examines a recurrent scenario in Roman poetry of the first-person genres: the separation of the poet from his writing tablets. Catullus' tablets are stolen ; Propertius' are lost ; Ovid's are consigned to disuse and decay by their disappointed owner. Martial, who does not reproduce the specific narrative of loss, nonetheless engages with the tradition of lost tablets from within the fiction of festive gift-exchange in his Apophoreta : rather than losing or rejecting the tablets, he gives them (...)

Hallmarks: The Cultural Politics and Public Pedagogies of Stuart Hall.Leslie G. Roman (ed.) - 2016 - Routledge.
This provocative, interdisciplinary, and transnational collection delves deeply into the educational and public intellectual hallmarks of Stuart M. Hall, a core figure in the development of the post-War British New Left, of Cultural Studies at the Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies and later, of the Open University. It opens new vistas on both critical educational studies and cultural studies through interviews with, and essays by, leading writers, shedding light on the under-appreciated public pedagogical and cultural politics of the New Left, (...)
