Abstract
/// At the beginning of a New Milennium, different voices proclaim the need for a change in the process of globalization as it is been produced, asserting the importance of giving to it an ethical orientation. A global ethic becomes thus necessary. But the construction of such an ethic is not an easy task in a world marked by a deep cultural diversity. The article analyses in a first moment three possible ways for the construction of such a global ethic: the hermeneutical-coherential (Rawls), the critical-social immanent (Walzer), the transcendental pragmatic (Apel). The author proposes finally a fourth way which takes the best of the other three and tries to overcome them from the idea of the mutual acknowledgement understood from the Socratic tradition and from the tradition of the Covenant.
