The heavy burden of democracy: Where is salvation? Democracy between perspective and prohibited.Hussain Shaban - 2020 - Philosophy and Social Criticism 46 (5):523-538.
This report seeks to discuss the threats to liberal democracy and explore how to devise a new path towards democratic transition and the challenges faced: civil war, sectarian and religious conflicts, ethnic and national tensions, international terrorism and regional wars, and societal violence. The impact on democratic transformation, especially the sense of threat, whether literal or theoretical, led to the tendency of demagogic towards a populist outlook in pluralistic societies, generating reactions across other societies suffering from external alienation and internal (...)

The Analysis of Fractional-Order Nonlinear Systems of Third Order KdV and Burgers Equations via a Novel Transform.A. A. Alderremy, Shaban Aly, Rabia Fayyaz, Adnan Khan, Rasool Shah & Noorolhuda Wyal - 2022 - Complexity 2022:1-24.
In this article, we solve nonlinear systems of third order KdV Equations and the systems of coupled Burgers equations in one and two dimensions with the help of two different methods. The suggested techniques in addition with Laplace transform and Atangana–Baleanu fractional derivative operator are implemented to solve four systems. The obtained results by implementing the proposed methods are compared with exact solution. The convergence of the method is successfully presented and mathematically proved. The results we get are compared with (...)

Improving the Accuracy for Analyzing Heart Diseases Prediction Based on the Ensemble Method.Xiao-Yan Gao, Abdelmegeid Amin Ali, Hassan Shaban Hassan & Eman M. Anwar - 2021 - Complexity 2021:1-10.
Heart disease is the deadliest disease and one of leading causes of death worldwide. Machine learning is playing an essential role in the medical side. In this paper, ensemble learning methods are used to enhance the performance of predicting heart disease. Two features of extraction methods: linear discriminant analysis and principal component analysis, are used to select essential features from the dataset. The comparison between machine learning algorithms and ensemble learning methods is applied to selected features. The different methods are (...)

From Dozy’s Source Analyses Towards an Interdisciplinary Approach to Avoiding Muslim and Christian Stereotypes.Cristina Segura Graiño, Juan Martos Quesada & Osama Shaban - 2015 - Transformation: An International Journal of Holistic Mission Studies 32 (3):202-215.
European scholarship developed a strong a tradition of Oriental studies, especially from the nineteenth century. A Dutch hispanismo was born from the pioneering spirit of some scholars who realized the importance of drawing more attention to the Spanish culture and language in the late nineteenth century. Notably, the history of al-Andalus did not prompt any great interest, except for the scholar Reinhart Dozy whose work exerted a major influence both in his time and later. This article aims to examine whether (...)

  10. "Portraits of Wittgenstein" by Ian Ground and F.A. Flowers. [REVIEW]Tim Crane - 2016 - The Times Literary Supplement 1:1-1.
Derek Jarman’s Wittgenstein (1993) is one of the very few films made about a philosopher’s life. Almost a parody of a late twentieth-century art-house movie, it contains a mimetic performance by Karl Johnson in the title role, plus cameos by Michael Gough (Bertrand Russell) and the ubiquitous Tilda Swinton (Russell’s lover, Ottoline Morrell). There is a green Martian (played by Nabil Shaban) who quizzes the young Ludwig Wittgenstein, and a collection of handsome young men sitting on deckchairs, looking puzzled and (...)
