  2. Finding Excuses for J=K.Roman Matthaeus Heil - 2022 - Thought: A Journal of Philosophy 11 (1):32-40.
According to J=K, only beliefs that qualify as knowledge are epistemically justified. Traditionalists about justification have objected to this view that it predicts that radically deceived subjects do not have justified beliefs, which they take to be counter-intuitive. In response, proponents of J=K have argued that traditionalists mistake being justified with being excused in the relevant cases. To make this response work, Timothy Williamson has offered a dispositional account of excuse which has recently been challenged by Jessica Brown. She has (...)

Basilius Valentinus und die Labortechnik um 1600.Claus Priesner - 1997 - Berichte Zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte 20 (2-3):159-172.
The paper focusses on various methods of preparing chemical compounds and on laboratory techniques used in that. It is based on different texts ascribed to „Basil Valentine”, an important author of alchemical writings whose real identity is not yet established beyond any doubt. Basil was a leading alchemical experimentator of his time and devised a number of preparation-processes for new substances, some of which are discussed here. The paper sheds also new light on some hitherto established notions of priority which (...)

  8. Der christliche Gnostizismus in der Metaphysik Sebastian Francks.Gerhard Lechner - manuscript

Bardaisan of Edessa: a reassessment of the evidence and a new interpretation.Ilaria Ramelli - 2009 - Piscataway, NJ: Gorgias Press.
This groundbreaking monograph on Bardaisan, his relation to Origen, and his Middle Platonic framework has argued, through a painstaking analysis of all evidence, that Bardaisan was a Christian Middle Platonist, a philosophical theologian who built a Logos Christology, possibly the first supporter of apokatastasis, and there is a close relation between Origen, Bardaisan, their thought, and their traditions [further proofs in an edition with essays: Mohr Siebeck, forthcoming]. This monograph (and a related HTR essay) was received far beyond the field (...)
