1951, L'homme et la mort est le premier travail anthropologique d'Edgar Morin. Il ouvre un champ de recherches qui ne s'épanouira qu'une quinzaine d'années plus tard en France. L'Homme n'est pas fait pour la mort, et pourtant il y est voué. Depuis le fond des âges, il créé des sépultures et manifeste ainsi son humanité, en même temps que son refus de la fatalité mortelle. À partir de deux mythes fondateurs - la mort-renaissance et la survie du double - (...) des croyances et des idéologies se sont forgées. En créant le Centre d'études des communications de masse en 1960, Edgar Morin s'affirmait comme un précurseur. Né en 1921, Edgar Morin est un penseur connu, mais heureusement pas toujours reconnu dans les milieux scientifiques. Sa ronflante Méthode, qui établit que les effets d’une action échappent souvent à son auteur en provoquant des conséquences méconnues, comble surtout des médias trop heureux d’avoir sous la main un théoricien tout-terrain aux analyses grandiloquentes. D’ailleurs, la femme, l’entreprise, le football, la France, l’Europe, les pays de l’est, les pays arabes, le monde... sont, pour Edgar Morin, complexes. En quelques (...) années, Edgar Morin a ainsi réussi à amener la gauche à jeter Marx et ses analyses tranchées aux poubelles de l’Histoire. This article shows that in two respects, Gödel's incompleteness theorem strongly supports the arguments of Edgar Morin's complexity paradigm. First, from the viewpoint of the content of Gödel's theorem, the latter justifies the basic view of complexity paradigm according to which knowledge is a dynamic, unfinished process, and develops by way of self-criticism and self-transcendence. Second, from the viewpoint of the proof procedure of Gödel's theorem, the latter confirms the complexity paradigm's circular line of inference through which is formed (...) the all-round knowledge of a concrete object. Cet article a pour but de montrer l’influence des idées d’Edgar Morin dans le contexte brésilien, en resituant le rapprochement qui a eu lieu entre le Service social du commerce et plus particulièrement son Escola SESC , et la pensée de cet intellectuel qui alimente grandement plusieurs domaines de la connaissance. Le SESC est une entité qui a été fondée en 1946 au niveau national. Il agit autour de la notion de bien-être social, intervenant dans les secteurs de la (...) culture, de l’éducation, de la santé et des loisirs. En 2008, le SESC a inauguré un internat-école secondaire qui constitue un modèle innovateur d’enseignement pour le Brésil. La pensée d’Edgar Morin a guidé la construction du projet pédagogique de l’Escola SESC et sert d’inspiration pour faire durer et consolider cette institution.This article aims to show the influence of the ideas of Edgar Morin in the Brazilian context, situating the reconciliation that took place between the Social Service of Commerce and more specifically its Escola SESC , and thought of this great intellectual powers several areas of knowledge. SESC is an entity that was founded in 1946 at the national level. It is based on the notion of social welfare, involved in the fields of culture, education, health and recreation. In 2008, the SESC has opened a boarding-school, which is an innovative model of education in Brazil. The thought of Edgar Morin has guided the construction of the educational project of the Escola SESC and serves as an inspiration to continue and strengthen this institution. (shrink)

Este artigo tem como pretensão apresentar alguns elementos teóricos da teoria da complexidade presente em Edgar Morin. A proposta segue por um viés de aproximar o leitor da compreensão de complexidade e completude; a polidisciplinaridade e a transdiciplinaridade com vista em destacar como a abordagem de Morin almeja despertar o conhecimento que, segundo o autor, esta adormedico.

Cet ouvrage introduit l'épistémologie de la complexité d'Edgar Morin (1921-), qui épouse l'esprit de la métaphysique de la connaissance consacrée aux relations complexes entre la simplicité, la simplicité et la complexité. Deux raisons à cette dialogique pensante : d'abord, Morin contribue de manière significative à la critique du scientisme et de l'apriorisme. Ensuite, son corpus transversal ouvre un espace des possibles de méditation de l'être pris dans son indétermination totale et dans une tension essentielle entre ce qui est et (...) ce qui pourrait être. C'est donc une contribution à l'avènement d'une pensée interstitielle qui ne dévalorise pas les conditions de possibilité d'une science de la complexité. (shrink)

This essay was the first installment of a long series designed to establish a new scientific paradigm: “the paradigm of complexity.” The latter stood as a challenge to the fragmentary and reductionist spirit dominating the scientific enterprise and advocated a dynamic and productive - Physique – Nouvel article.

Main principles of the complex nonlinear thinking which are based on the notions of the modern theory of evolution and self-organization of complex systems called also synergetics are under discussion in this article. The principles are transdisciplinary, holistic, and oriented to a human being. The notions of system complexity, nonlinearity of evolution, creative chaos, space-time definiteness of structure-attractors of evolution, resonant influences, nonlinear and soft management are here of great importance. L’attention qu’Edgar Morin prête au langage du point de vue théorétique est bien connue : nombreuses sont les réflexions sur ce sujet éparpillées dans son œuvre, en particulier dans les six tomes de La Méthode. Prenant pour point de départ cet œuvre et les nœuds essentiels de son discours sur la langue, je me suis concentrée particulièrement sur le lexique inépuisable de Morin, véritable terrain de création, offrant quelques exemples significatifs de son souci d’expressivité et de son « aptitude (...) combinatoire, inventive » : mots composés, mots dérivés, mots juxtaposés, et bien d’autres encore.Attention Edgar Morin ready to language theoretic point of view is well known there are many scattered thoughts on this subject in his work, particularly in the six volumes of the method. Les mathématiques telles qu’elles se sont développées entre 1935 et 1970 jouent un rôle très important dans La Méthode. Ce rôle est explicite en ce qui concerne la logique, plus implicite en ce qui concerne la théorie du contrôle, l’incertitude, et certaines notions vues hors du champ mathématique et particulièrement probabiliste . Sur un exemple de résultats récents de la logique mathématique, la correspondance de Curry-Howard et les travaux de Jean-Louis Krivine nous montrent la pertinence des idées et des intuitions (...) d’Edgar Morin concernant la logique, la réalité et le cerveau.Mathematics as they are developed between 1935 and 1970 played a very important role in the method. This paper analyzes the necessity and operation of conceptual macromolecule inside Edgar Morin’s school of thought due to the significant connection of his epistemological proposal and the language transformation with which the knowledge of reality is expressed in complex thought. This paper is organized as follows. First, we pointed the essential link between conceptualizer/observer subject and the macro-conceptualization. Second, we interpret the system or complex basic unity expounded in Method I based on complexity principles. Edgar Morin is one of the most important contemporary European philosophers. His name has recently also become well known on the American continent, especially in South America, where his works have given rise to several interesting cultural initiatives. The analysis of his pedagogical proposal can be a stimulating adventure for educators and teachers alike. Morin's proposal to link methodologically what is disjoined suggests re-establishing the connection between thought and action, in order to re-establish on rational and critical bases the (...) ethical principles of solidarity and responsibility and enable us to face the challenges of our times.
