This text argues that psychoanalytic philosophy is a valuable tool for the Philosophy of Sport. To situate it within the philosophical tradition, I place Freud’s ideas as an heir to the Philosophy of Impulse of Schopenhauer and Nietzsche. Then, I explain how psychoanalytic philosophy can be understood as a form of hermeneutics, which aligns well with the interests of the field. I also recognise the importance of questioning whether we can consider sports and their events as analysable psychoanalytic facts. To (...) this purpose, I use Paul Ricoeur’s methodological approach, which proposes to analyse collective and common phenomena hermeneutically as psychoanalytic facts. I demonstrate the consistency of this method and adapt it to the Philosophy of Sport. The method involves a triangular operation that analyses psychoanalytic facts by articulating their relationships of meaning (narratives, manifest content, memories and objects), their relationships of force (resistances, neurotic repetitions, symptoms, latent contents and transfers), and psychoanalytic theory. As an example, I apply this method to conduct a micro-psychoanalytic analysis of Brazil’s defeat to Germany in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which the Brazilian coach referred to as a ‘blanked out’ moment. I observe that the destiny of drives, which Freud understood as the tendency of unconscious material to return to consciousness in the form of commitments to objects and symptoms, is prominent in sports reality. This may encourage us to see the potential of promising interpretations grounded in the Psychoanalytic Philosophy of Sport. (shrink)

The paper analyses various metaphysical and eschatological implications of transhumanism, especially in the light of its idea of the immortality of the human species. Through a concise interpretation of the historical framework of the emergence of the transhumanist movement, the paper highlights its main features such as human improvement, overcoming human nature, and overcoming inherent human deficiencies using modern scientific disciplines and modern technologies. Those features help understand metaphysics and eschatology as formed by some aspects of transhumanism. These aspects are (...) unquestionably technological and secular in their principles, as they distance themselves from the religious understanding of human longing and death. Often, death is understood as a mistake, while the process of ageing is seen as a pathological, humiliating but curable condition. Transhumanism thus marks the end of the humantranscendental perspective of a free individual, created by the goodness of God and saved by the love of God, through the mystery of Jesus Christ. The paper argues that technocratic solutions cannot fulfil fundamental human longings. (shrink)

A pesquisa objetivou perceber como a construção curricular e as práticas pedagógicas nos Cursos de Artes–licenciaturas das Universidades Comunitárias de Santa Catarina possibilitam ou não momentos de promoção de igualdade para todos e todas. Após mapear as IES Comunitárias, a análise incidiu sobre os currículos trabalhados por seis Universidades: FURB, UNIVILLE, UNIPLAC, UNOESC, UNC, UNESC, no período de 2000 a 2007. Nos planos de ensino dos professores e na bibliografia recomendada, constatamos a presença de autores que abordam o multiculturalismo. ArgumentOdilon Redon's dark-spirited charcoals and lithographs of the last quarter of the nineteenth century responded to developments in science, including the Pasteurian revolution. Rather than celebrating the progressive potential of science, Redon's noirs engaged national anxieties that attended scientific advances. His position was close to the Decadents of the 1880s who dwelled on themes of illness and decay. While the artist's original biographer André Mellerio referred to the artist's fascination with Pasteur and his microbial world, where in a single drop (...) of water “there arises the spectacle of giants of a gripping horror and a frightful, predatory nature,” the topic has virtually disappeared from Redon literature. By recovering the scientific/medical issues that stimulated Redon's creation, this article restores the subjects of pathogenic organisms and contagious illness to their rightful place in Redon's oeuvre. Further, it provides the reader with a discussion of the cultural context in which Redon's interest was generated. (shrink)

O prazer da leitura, a formação do leitor e os novos conhecimentos promovidos pela interpretação do ator Odilon Esteves são salientados neste capítulo para fomentar uma reflexão sobre o uso didático das palestras cênicas na formação cultural e na ressignificação da vida na contemporaneidade. O universo poético acessado pelo ator-leitor é composto de contos, poesia e prosa recheados de subjetividade e paixão na visitação das obras literárias a que teve acesso pela via dos afetos. Sob a égide do paradigma (...) do questionamento do mundo, as obras são visitadas e estudadas em busca de compreensão das razões de existência e permanência. Na decifração das palavras, por um processo de apreensão do subjetivo e do singular, o ator-leitor-autor utiliza a percepção crítica da realidade e a reescrita do lido para apreender os múltiplos significados dos textos apresentados. Enfim, um convite a uma travessia afetiva por livros e autores que aguçam a curiosidade e ampliam o conhecimento do leitor. (shrink)

Recently, in an ongoing debate about informal provability, non-deterministic logics of informal provability BAT and CABAT were developed to model the notion. CABAT logic is defined as an extension of BAT logics and itself does not have independent and decent semantics. The aim of the paper is to show that, semantically speaking, both logics are rather complex and they can be characterized by neither finitely many valued deterministic semantics nor possible word semantics including neighbourhood semantics.

Podríamos iniciar estas líneas de acercamiento al problema, poliédrico y espejeante, que los autores aquí reunidos han sabido tratar acudiendo a la arquelogía de cierto vértigo de la conciencia sobre el que se constituye la subjetividad moderna. Para ello, cabría acudir al primer gran umbral de pérdida del equilibrio, para encontrarnos con la desfundamentación renacentista de la idea de cosmos. Nuestro relato, en tal caso, tendría su origen en la disolución del mundo en las cosas, de los universales en los (...) particulares, de la metafísica en la antropognosis. También sería posible alcanzar a Descartes –guiados quizás por Monsieur Teste y sus «excesos de conciencia de sí»– e instalarnos en los abismos fantasmagóricos de la pérdida de la evidencia inmediata (procurándose, perversamente, modernamente, la evidencia filosófica…). O detenernos en los surgimientos de la función imaginante según la define Kant en la Crítica del juicio en términos ya productivos, y continuar, si así lo quisiéramos, hacia aquel Salon de 1859 en el que Baudelaire atribuye a la imaginación la doble capacidad de descomponer lo recibido por la percepción, llenándose así la cultura europea de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX de fantasmas antiplatónicos; o sea, de imágenes soberanas con potencia para inquietarnos. Haciendo de este modo recuento de derrumbes (del Cosmos y de la Evidencia) y apariciones (la de una máquina de coser y un paraguas sobre una mesa de disección, los espectros mirados por Odilon Redon, las palabras absolutas de Mallármé), obtendríamos un itinerario preciso por el que determinar qué habríamos de entender con la expresión que da título a esta volumen: poéticas del extrañamiento. O Traço e a prosa: entrevistas com ilustradores de livros infantojuvenis (2012) é uma coletânea sobre artistas ilustradores organizada por Odilon Moraes, Rona Hanning e Maurício Paraguassu, da editora Cosac Naify e que trata desse assunto, especificamente.O livro é composto de doze entrevistas com autores/ilustradores brasileiros experientes na área, e inova em acervos (...) e fontes para pesquisadores e estudantes da área de literatura infantojuvenil, trazendo boa amostra do que vem sendo produzido no Brasil em termos de ilustração e de narrativa.
