Il pensiero critico appare oggi, in molti casi, relegato a circolare in luoghi chiusi ed asfittici. Tale condizione sembra risentire di un mancata connessione con l’ambiente che, attraverso le riflessioni di Deleuze e Guattari sulla geofilosofia, verrà definito come il luogo dell’accadere, ossia dell’incontro con il possibile. Mentre i due autori francesi sceglievano di nominare tale connessione – oggi deficitaria – tra il pensiero e l’ambiente “utopia”, l’articolo proporrà di sostituire tale termine con quello di “speranza”: è di quest’ultima che (...) la critica ha bisogno per tornare a respirare. La speranza verrà declinata, in particolare, in chiave postcritica come postura teorica situata nello spazio comune, come domanda aperta ai rischi della contingenza e come affetto performativo capace di una “careful translation” del nostro lessico politico. Deleuze has left to with two texts, ‘Post-scriptum sur les sociétés de contrôle’ and L’immanence: une vie.., which constitute his heritage. These two essays seem to stand far apart from each other, because while the first talks about the risk that individuals today will be reduced to a number by the machines that control our societies, the second is concerned with proposing the concept of an immanent and impersonal life. The aim of this article, however, is to connect these two (...) texts, in order to show, firstly, that contemporary society has indeed become a system of control, governed by machines and statistical methods. The concept of ‘algorithmic governmentality’, proposed by Antoinette Rouvroy, will be used to examine how today the individual is forced into anonymity. On the other hand, however, the second aim of this article is to rethink the Deleuzian notion of the impersonal, which is always associated with a life. In fact, impersonality stands in opposition to the Cartesian subject, which possesses its own unity and identity, yet in no way does it correspond to any anonymity imposed by forms of power. An impersonal life is, instead, a virtual multiplicity: today this seems to be the only strategy of resistance possible, against the regime of quantitative, digital truth that has been developed by our societies. The illness immersion condition prevents patients from enjoying everything worth living life for. In any case, according to Frank, this condition could represent one of the most insightful experiences towards understanding the meaning of life. Using the metaphor of phoenix taken from May, Frank identified four kinds of embodiments through which the phoenix can reveal itself in a patient after an illness immersion experience: the phoenix that could ever be and the phoenix that might have been; the recurrent and cumulative (...) phoenix and the reluctant phoenix. Based on these considerations, a qualitative study was conducted in order to give voice to the different phoenix embodiments focusing on several autobiographies of patients afflicted with severe or terminal illness. The analysis highlights several similarities that the different phoenixes shared ; however, a deep difference emerged in their worldview which proves able to lead them towards different epiphanies. These evidences reveal that every sick person should be understood, stimulated and accompanied throughout his lived experience of illness by an expressly designed and dedicated care. (shrink)

Living with a chronic condition represents a strenuous experience that often could be lived as a sequence of waiting and crisis times. Therapeutic path incidents could represent however a catalysts and revelatory time, useful to patients to discover their own resources. A qualitative study according to the phenomenological hermeneutic perspective was conducted to understand the kind of skills expressed by the patients during a difficult episode, and the characteristics that identify patients who can overcome them better. From September 2019 to (...) August 2020 twenty-three patients followed-up in four Hospital Units of Northeastern of Italy were enrolled. All the patients described an episode linked whit their pathological condition; they mentioned mainly supportive, reactive, or behavioral strategies and an acceptance attitude. The sample characteristics may explain the recurring acceptance attitude; however, the younger individuals, those with a higher level of education and those who faced precedent negative life experiences seem to better overcome challenging events. It can’t be taken for granted that patients possess all the skills necessary to overcome the frequent challenging episodes they have to face; for this reason, healthcare professionals should assess their learning and reactive attitude in order to tailor for them therapeutic education paths. The World Bank’s premise that “gender equality is good business” characterizes the current gender and economic development model. Policymakers and development practitioners promote and encourage women’s entrepreneurialism from the conviction that increasing women’s market-based opportunities is key to lifting women, their families, and communities out of poverty, resulting in the construction of a gendered entrepreneurial subject. Based on ethnographic fieldwork and interviews with home-based garment workers in Ahmedabad, India, this article questions the portrayal of women informal workers as entrepreneurs. Employing (...) a social reproduction framework, I argue that the exploitative characteristics of informal work are falsely interpreted as features of entrepreneurialism. Because work is completed in the worker’s own home, work and care become a mutual burden in which woman’s sense of providing for her family is impeded by both these roles. A feminist social reproduction framework of embodied labor links women’s responsibility for and contribution to family well-being with women’s marginalized economic position. Examining home-based work through this lens reveals the contradiction of the entrepreneurialism discourse. (shrink)

One of the most unpredictable things the pandemic brought to our societies was the closure of hospitals and other health services to visitors. Preventing the spread of infection was the main reason for these decisions in the early days of the pandemic when there was no clarity about the means of transmission and the origin of the virus. However, in view of the persistence of the restrictions to date and the numerous negative consequences they have had on the professional and (...) personal quality of life of doctors, nurses, patients and carers, the aim of this article is to analyse in depth the reasons why these decisions have been and, above all, are still being applied, also considering the hypothesis that the choices made so far in the training of health professionals should be questioned. The persistence of restrictions, the constant reduction of human and economic resources in the face of an increase in the demand for care have exacerbated the distance between health professionals and users, to the point of escalating into actual acts of violence and aggression. According to the Critical Pedagogy approach, educators can play a central role in activating formative and collaborative strategies, such as maieutic groups, to rebuild an alliance between those who today find themselves on opposite sides: health professionals on the one hand, and patients and families on the other. André Tosel, décédé en mars 2017, était un philosophe engagé, attaché tout au long de son existence à faire vivre un marxisme critique puisant notamment dans le meilleur de la tradition italienne de ce courant de pensée ; il fut l'un des rares français à introduire et discuter les oeuvres majeures d'A. Labriola et surtout d'A. Gramsci, ainsi par ailleurs que celles de Vico dont il fut un fin connaisseur. Il consacra sa thèse de doctorat d'état aux rapports entre (...) religion, politique et philosophie chez Spinoza et contribua de façon décisive à de nouvelles lectures du philosophe en le mettant en miroir de Marx. Professeur de philosophie des universités de Besançon, Franche Comté, de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne et de Nice Sophia-Antipolis, dans lesquelles il occupa de nombreuses fonctions de directions administratives et scientifiques, il était un homme de collectif attaché à faire vivre le savoir, s'engageant dans la vie universitaire et politique, contribuant également de manière décisive au lancement et à l'animation de la revue Actuel Marx. Passionné par l'évolution des pensées contemporaines, il intervenait régulièrement dans des débats d'actualité, sous la forme de contributions dans L'Humanité ou dans des ouvrages destinés à un public large, tout particulièrement dans la dernière période sur les questions de sécularisation, de laïcité et de religion. Cet ouvrage entend lui rendre hommage en abordant les différentes facettes de son oeuvre, traversant un demi-siècle de vie intellectuelle. (shrink)

This article proposes a multidisciplinary work perspective on couples who undergo assisted reproductive technology treatments, with particular attention paid to the treatment of women. The epistemological references underlying a vision of infertility and sterility that respect the psyche–soma unity of the person are illustrated: the biopsychosocial model and the psychoneuroimmunology and psychosomatic contemporary models of health and illness. Based on clinical experience in a private and institutional setting, different steps in the course of treatment are described with the related areas (...) of psychological work: from the search for pregnancy to the choice of adhering to an ART treatment, to conception, up to delivery and beyond. The implications of the work are targeted at a better qualification of psychological interventions in this specific multidisciplinary area. (shrink)

Dans le système spinoziste la raison connaissance par notions communes occupe une fonction intermédiaire. Elle marque bien le seuil de la connaissance adéquate et se distingue ainsi de l'imagination. Mais elle ne donne pas accès à la connaissance des choses singulières que l'imagination appréhende dans une donation originaire et confuse. Seule la science intuitive accède à cette connaissance qui est génétique et infiniment ouverte.

Il ne faut pas sous-estimer la fonction heuristique de la notion de système dans la constitution du savoir moderne. La dénonciation du système comme clôture empêche de penser ce que contenait de théoriquement révolutionnaire la notion de dictionnaire, d'encyclopédie, de système des sciences considérée dans son rapport à l'idée problématique d'un système du présent historique et de ses tâches pratiques. La fin des systèmes laisse la pensée démunie.

Antonio Labriola a affronté la question de la philosophie de Marx sans la réduire à un déterminisme historique, sans en faire une téléologie. Moment théorique dans la production du terrain artificiel, liée aux sciences mais distinctes d’elles, la philosophie relève de la praxis, unité de l’action et de la production, et est elle-même praxis, travail de rectification des concepts, gnoséologie critico-historique qui assume son lien aux mouvements du réel.

Le néolibéralisme est la conception du monde organique du néocapitalisme mondialisé dont l’objectif est d’imposer à toutes les pratiques la soumission réelle par et sous le capital indissolublement industriel et financier. Cette conception du monde capture les subjectivités et les forme par le développement d’un imaginaire pauvre mais efficace. La critique de l’économie politique inclut celle de cet imaginaire. Celui-ci n’est pas une figure simple. Il s’articule en deux dictions non convergentes, mais spéculaires, saisies dans une tension souvent contradictoire.La première (...) est une diction universaliste qui mime la logique pure du capital en la mystifiant. La seconde diction est liée au retour nécessaire des configurations concrètes de la différenciation anthropologique : genre, nationalité, citoyenneté privilège, religion, langue, culture. L’imaginaire obéit alors à la dualité entre un « Nous » et un « Eux » et il se fait guerrier et raciste. Cette tension est structurale et jusqu’à aujourd’hui l’imaginaire néolibéral a réussi à supplanter son universalisme abstrait en le supplémentant par recours aux différenciations anthropologiques, comme le prouve le devenir capitaliste de toutes les économies de la planète, qui disent leur concurrence en ce langage. Une brèche pourrait cependant s’ouvrir dans ce dispositif : c’est celle que produit une économie capitaliste devenue par le moyen de la dette une économie de la dette. L’imaginaire de la dette peut être le lieu d’une critique et d’une pratique émancipatrices nous libérant des formes de l’imaginaire néolibéral. Pourquoi pas un imaginaire du débiteur libéré ; et s’appropriant dans une démocratie processus sa puissance d’agir et de penser, individuelle et collective? (shrink)

Periods of the Epoch: Shifts between Nominalist and Realist Versions of a Concept. The nominalist critique of the concept of epoch has the effect of relegating and discarding the various philosophies of history. Such a critique, necessary as it is, is nonetheless doomed to fail, if it does not promote the critical apprehension of reality in terms of a renewed epochal thinking, capable of addressing capitalism in its current phase, that of an actualised world-system. The idea of a general history (...) is one which does not consent to its post-modern effacement or dissolution. It is, on the contrary, an idea which can re-emerge in a renewed, trans-modern version. Sait-on que le seul débat philosophique d'envergure sur l'oeuvre de Marx a eu l'Italie pour théâtre? Sait-on que ce débat, qui fit époque, est à l'origine de la philosophie italienne contemporaine? Autour des années 1897-1900 une partie décisive se joue entre Antonio Labriola, Benedetto Croce et Giovanni Gentile. Les Essais sur la conception matérialiste de l'histoire du premier affirment en effet l'autonomie théorique et pratique de la philosophie de la praxis. Ami et éditeur de Cabriola, B Croce nie cependant la (...) consistance de cette philosophie, analyse les faiblesses de la critique de l'économie politique et réduit le matérialisme historique à une méthodologie du facteur économique. Mais Gentile le contredit, affirme la réalité de "la philosophie de Marx", dont il dénonce toutefois l'énoncé matérialiste. Si le chemin de l'Italie semble ainsi barré pour Marx, c'est pourtant dans et par les philosophies idéalistes de Croce et de Gentile (dominantes sur la scène italienne jusqu'à la seconde guerre mondiale) qu'il va investir la péninsule. Enfin, par un nouveau renversement, dans les prisons de Mussolini un ancien gentilien utilise Croce pour relancer la philosophie de praxis à la hauteur des défis que l'époque lance au libéralisme aussi bien qu'au marxisme soviétique : les Cahiers de Prison d'Antonio Gramsci font la synthèse du débat fondateur et donnent un sens cosmopolitique à la traduction de la philosophie en politique et en histoire. Cette synthèse est-elle réussie, ou appartient-elle à un passé et à une culture qui sont épuisés? Tel est l'enjeu du débat majeur de la pensée italienne contemporaine : la philosophie de la praxis, qui fut comme la carte d'identité de cette culture, est-elle finie? (shrink)

La question de l’abstraction chez Marx n’est pas seulement une question de théorie de la connaissance qui exigerait une distinction entre les mauvaises abstractions génériques et indéterminées et les bonnes abstractions spécifiques et déterminées. Les abstractions sont réelles et sont solidaires d’une domination propre aux formes. L’émancipation du travail vivant est celle d’une « energeia » qui fait l’objet d’un concept adéquat en son mouvement d’actualisation inachevée.
