The Use of Deception in Public Health Behavioral Intervention Trials: A Case Study of Three Online Alcohol Trials.Jim McCambridge, Kypros Kypri, Preben Bendtsen & John Porter - 2013 - American Journal of Bioethics 13 (11):39-47.
Some public health behavioral intervention research studies involve deception. A methodological imperative to minimize bias can be in conflict with the ethical principle of informed consent. As a case study, we examine the specific forms of deception used in three online randomized controlled trials evaluating brief alcohol interventions. Concealed Kypris in the Iphigenia at Aulis.Katherine Wasdin - 2020 - Classical Quarterly 70 (1):43-50.
In their first stasimon, the chorus of Euripides’ Iphigenia at Aulis praises ‘concealed Kypris’ as a marker of virtue for women :μέγα τι θηρεύειν ἀρετάν,γυναιξὶ μὲν κατὰ Κύ-πριν κρυπτάν, ἐν ἀνδράσι δ᾿ αὖκόσμος ἐνὼν ὁ μυριοπλη-θὴς μείζω πόλιν αὔξει.It is something great to hunt for excellence. For women, it is according to concealed Kypris, and among men in turn manifold order being within makes the city grow greater.

  4. Kypris, Aphrodite, and Venus: More Puzzles About Belief.Heidi Savage - manuscript
My aim in this paper is to show that the existence of empty names raise problems for the Millian that go beyond the traditional problems of accounting for their meanings. Specifically, they have implications for Millian strategies for dealing with puzzles about belief. The standard move of positing a referent for a fictional name to avoid the problem of meaning, because of its distinctly Millian motivation, implies that solving puzzles about belief, when they involve empty names, do in fact hang (...)
