Recoge la pregunta fundamental de Rawls sobre la posibilidad de encontrar principios de justicia universalmente obligatorios; pero releva que su límite son las sociedades democráticas occidentales modernas, y que otros órdenes sociales no encajan, por lo que Rawls no ofrece una teoría universal. When Nietzsche published his pamphlet The Case of Wagner in 1888 he succeeded in catching the attention of the reading public after many years of neglect. His radical critique of Wagner is viewed as influential in reception history. The Twilight of the Idols captures the essence of Nietzsche's late philosophy. The work shows Nietzsche at the high point of his creative powers and provides a vivid example of experimental philosophy in practice.

The last posthumous manuscripts from 1888 bear witness to an enormous stylistic and intellectual radicalization. The Antichrist purports to be a total "reevaluation of all values." In Ecce homo, Nietzsche explores the genealogy of his own thinking, opening up new dimensions of self-reflection. Nietzsche contra Wagner sums up the many years of Nietzsche's continuing critique of Wagner, while the Dionysian Dithyrambs seek to breathe new life into lyric poetry.

My paper consists of three chapters. The first chapter deals with the concept of Nietzsche’s usage of “immanence;” I will be tracing his usage of this term. My second point is a more general one. I would like to focus on the question as to whether it is possible for Nietzsche to have a strong concept of immanence, particularly when we recall that Nietzsche clearly formulates his strong opposition to all ideas of transcendence. Might any immanence at all be retained (...) here? The third chapter contains an in-depth examination of two sections of Beyond Good and Evil, Sections 3 and 6. I think we are able to note some important aspects in these passages as we seek to understand whether Nietzsche has any kind of idea or concept of immanence. (shrink)

On the basis of Bandura’s social cognitive theory, researchers often assume that a teachers’ self-efficacy will have a positive effect on teaching quality. However, the available empirical evidence is mixed. Building on previous research into TSE, we examined whether assessing class-/task-specific TSE gives a more accurate indication of the associations between TSE assessments and student-rated teaching quality. The analyses were based on the English sample of the Teaching and Learning International Survey Video Study. Mathematics teachers rated their self-efficacy beliefs using (...) generalized task-specific TSE items and class-/task-specific TSE items. Their students rated the quality of teaching in their math class. Multilevel regression analyses revealed stronger associations between student-rated teaching quality and class-/task-specific TSE than generalized task-specific TSE. We discuss possible reasons for these results and outline the potential benefits of using class-specific assessments for future TSE research. (shrink)

Traditionell gelten Fragen der Ernährung nicht als seriöse philosophische Fragen: Dem reinen Geist darf demnach die physische Ernährung des von ihm temporär bewohnten Körpers herzlich gleichgültig sein. Im 18. und im 19. Jahrhundert wandelt sich allerdings das Bild: Mit der Problematisierung des Leib-Seele-Dualismus wird diese Gleichgültigkeit in Ernährungsfragen selbst zweifelhaft. Ludwig Feuerbach und Friedrich Nietzsche benutzen die für Philosophen scheinbar so abseitige Frage nach der Ernährung zu einer gezielten Destabilisierung philosophischer Grundüberzeugungen: Ludwig Feuerbach tut dies, um eine materialistische Ontologie an (...) die Stelle einer idealistischen zu setzen und egalitär-demokratische Folgerungen zu ziehen. Friedrich Nietzsche hingegen stellt Ontologie jedweder Ausrichtung zur Disposition und individualisiert die Ernährungsfrage radikal, um damit ein Exempel seines moral- und seines auto-genealogischen Verfahrens zu geben und zugleich elitäre Selbst-Selektion zu propagieren. Beide Denker reflektieren auf die angemessene Ernährung, um philosophische Wahrheits- und Geltungsansprüche insgesamt zu relativieren. Cultural philosophy must always fathom anew what it means to live in a reflexive, self-reflexive culture of relativisation - in a culture that not only allows but forces the most diverse points of view. A culture in which nothing and no one secures the ultimate truth, the ultimate objectivity. Modern culture is a great possibility-generating enterprise. Cultural philosophy can conceptually express and bring to light the cultural potential for self-relativisation, the potential for self-reflection.

The article deals with the question of the extent to which Friedrich Nietzsche tried out various roles of being an outsider as well as the extent to which he also wanted to be an insider again and again. Special emphasis is placed on the problem of »historical philosophizing«, to which Nietzsche committed himself in 1878.

The universally lamented unleashing of language is a symptom. But not a symp- tom of an indeed alarming political development or even of a general cultural de- cay. Instead, it is a symptom of political maturation: everyone is allowed to speak for oneself nowadays. Piercing and brutal become those speakers, who do not feel heard and consider themselves impotent. If one is supposed to remedy this process, one must concede power of language to everyone as well as a power to (...) efficiently act upon the world. (shrink)

Weithin macht das Wort vom "Kampf der Kulturen" die Runde. Die Gegenwart wird bestimmt von Fragen nach kultureller Identität und kultureller Diversität. Aber wie ist dem Problem der Kultur denkerisch beizukommen? Der vorliegende Band, der auf eine internationale Tagung der Friedrich Nietzsche Gesellschaft e. V. in Naumburg zurückgeht, versammelt markante Forschungsbeiträge, die ausloten, welchen spezifischen Beitrag Friedrich Nietzsche für das Verständnis dessen geleistet hat, was Kultur ist und sein soll. Dabei geht es um Nietzsches Auseinandersetzung mit dem Begriff und den (...) Konkretionen von Kultur ebenso wie um seine kulturreformerischen Pläne, nämlich eine Kultur nach Maßgabe des Lebens zu schaffen. Es wird untersucht, inwiefern Nietzsches Versuch, aus der Perspektive fremder Kultur(en) die eigene zu beurteilen, bereits Wege interkultureller Reflexion einschlägt. Sodann wird nach der konkreten Rezeption von Nietzsches kulturphilosophischen Ansätzen im 20. Jahrhundert gefragt, galt Nietzsche doch lange Zeit als Kulturphilosoph par excellence. Schließlich wird in systematischer Hinsicht eruiert, inwiefern Nietzsches Kultur-Denken für die gegenwärtig so aktuelle Kulturphilosophie und den cultural turn in den Geisteswissenschaften noch anschlussfähig ist. Werte sind selbstverständlich. Über sie redet jeder. Und jeder nimmt sie für sich in Anspruch. Häufig für Widersprüchliches: beispielsweise ebenso dafür, sich für Flüchtlinge einzusetzen, wie dafür, sie abzuweisen. Werte scheinen allgegenwärtig und alternativlos. Und doch sind Werte eine moderne Erfindung und näher besehen gar nicht selbstverständlich. Dieses Buch fragt, worüber wir reden, wenn wir über Werte reden und sie in Anspruch nehmen. Vielleicht gibt es keine Werte. Vielleicht sind Werte Fiktionen. Vielleicht aber nützliche Fiktionen.
