Multifractal Detrended Cross-Correlation Analysis of the Return-Volume Relationship of Bitcoin Market.Wei Zhang, Pengfei Wang, Xiao Li & Dehua Shen - 2018 - Complexity 2018:1-20.
We investigate the cross-correlations of return-volume relationship of the Bitcoin market. In particular, we select eight exchange rates whose trading volume accounts for more than 98% market shares to synthesize Bitcoin indexes. The empirical results based on multifractal detrended cross-correlation analysis reveal that the nonlinear dependencies and power-law cross-correlations in return-volume relationship are found; all cross-correlations are multifractal, and there are antipersistent behaviors of cross-correlation for q=2; the price of small fluctuations is more persistent than that of the volume, while (...)

Board Processes, Board Strategic Involvement, and Organizational Performance in For-Profit and Non-Profit Organizations.Hongjin Zhu, Pengji Wang & Chris Bart - 2016 - Journal of Business Ethics 136 (2):311-328.
Although corporate governance researchers have devoted considerable attention to the role of boards of directors in monitoring management and providing resources, less attention has been paid to whether and how they affect the strategic actions of firms in response to changing environments. Taking a process-based perspective, we examine how several prevalent board processes affect the involvement of boards in strategic decision-making and how such involvement shapes organizational performance. Moreover, we offer an initial attempt to compare the strategic role of boards (...)

We have used focused ion beam-helium ion microscopy and low-pressure [Formula: see text] adsorption to investigate the pore characteristics of Lower Silurian Longmaxi shale. These results, combined with the molecular potential energy theory, reveal the relationship between pore size and the occurrence state of shale gas. Our results reveal that the pore volume and the specific surface area of Lower Silurian Longmaxi shale are mainly contributed by the pores with diameters of less than 10 nm. Nanoscale organic-matter pores are predominant, (...)

Supply Chain Decisions and Coordination Under the Combined Effect of Overconfidence and Fairness Concern.Zhang Zhijian, Peng Wang, Miyu Wan, Junhua Guo & Jian Liu - 2020 - Complexity 2020:1-16.
The purpose of this study was to examine the joint effect of overconfidence and fairness concern on supply chain decisions and design contracts to achieve a win-win situation within the supply chain. For this study, a centralized supply chain model was established without considering the retailers’ overconfidence and fairness concern. Furthermore, the retailers’ overconfidence and fairness concerns were introduced into the decentralized supply chain, while the Stackelberg game model between the manufacturer and the retailer was built. Furthermore, an innovative supply (...)

Due to the complexity of the network structure, log analysis is usually necessary for the maintenance of network-based distributed systems since logs record rich information about the system behaviors. In recent years, numerous works have been proposed for log analysis; however, they ignore temporal relationships between logs. In this paper, we target on the problem of mining informative patterns from temporal log data. We propose an approach to discover sequential patterns from event sequences with temporal regularities. Discovered patterns are useful (...)

Research on shale lithofacies is important for shale oil and gas production. This study focused on the lower third member of the Shahejie Formation in the Luo-69 well in the Zhanhua Sag, Jiyang Depression, Bohai Bay Basin, eastern China. Several methods, including thin section observations, total organic carbon analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, quantitative evaluations of minerals by scanning electron microscopy, major and trace-element analyses, and field emission-scanning electron microscopy, are used to investigate the effect of sedimentary environment on the type (...)

The complicated source-reservoir-assemblage characteristics of lacustrine tight oil sand in China are the main controlling factors of tight reservoir oiliness. Several studies have focused on qualitative description of source-reservoir-assemblage characteristics without quantitative assessment. In this study, reservoir-source-assemblage has been evaluated quantitatively by fitting the RSA log in the evaluation of Qijia Depression in the Songliao Basin. Total organic carbon and sand volume logs are used to fit the RSA log in three steps: TOC and Vs log fitting and normalization, RSA (...)

Why Knowledge Sharing in Scientific Research Teams Is Difficult to Sustain: An Interpretation From the Interactive Perspective of Knowledge Hiding Behavior.Feng Liu, Yuduo Lu & Peng Wang - 2020 - Frontiers in Psychology 11.
Efficient knowledge sharing is an important support for the continuous innovation and sustainable development of scientific research teams. However, in realistic management situations, the knowledge sharing of scientific research teams always appears to be unsustainable, and the reasons for this are the subject of considerable debate. In this study, an attempt was made to explore the interactive mechanism of knowledge hiding behaviors in scientific research teams between individual and collective knowledge hiding behaviors and its impact on knowledge sharing by adopting (...)

Stressful life events and subjective well-being are negatively related, but there is little research in the current literature exploring the mediating and moderating mechanisms underlying this association, especially for female adolescents in vocational schools who are subjected to undesirable life events. In the present study, we examined the mediating role of depression in the association between stressful life events and female adolescents’ subjective well-being, as well as the moderating role of perceived social support in the direct and indirect relations involved. Understanding pore growth is of great significance to investigating reservoir performance in shale-gas systems. However, different from the marine shale reservoir, the lacustrine shale reservoir is commonly rich in clay minerals, resulting in a complicated and poorly understood pore system. We have investigated the impact of coexisting clay mineral and organic matter on pore growth in the Lower Jurassic Da’anzhai Shale in the Northeast Sichuan Basin, West China, through performing total organic carbon analysis, X-ray diffraction, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, focused (...)

This study aimed to explore the mediating effects of internet gaming disorder, social network use, and generalized pathological internet use on the association between loneliness and depression. A total of 2211 junior high school students completed questionnaires regarding loneliness, internet gaming disorder, social network use, GPIU, and depression. The results of a structural equation model revealed that the path coefficient of loneliness to depression was significantly positive, loneliness could not predict depression through GPIU directly, but loneliness could predict depression through (...)

Recent research indicates that social networking site addiction is positively associated with materialism. However, little attention has been paid to the potential mechanisms in this relationship. This study tested the mediating role of depression and the moderating role of need to belong in the relationships between SNS addiction and adolescents’ materialism. This research model was tested among 733 adolescents in China. The findings indicated that both SNS addiction and NTB were positively related to adolescents’ materialism. Mediation analyses showed that depression (...)
