We have explored how to computationally characterize subsurface geologic structures presented in seismic volumes using texture attributes. For this purpose, we conduct a comparative study of typical texture attributes presented in the image processing literature. We focus on spatial attributes in this study and examine them in a new application for seismic interpretation, i.e., seismic volume labeling. For this application, a data volume is automatically segmented into various structures, each assigned with its corresponding label. If the labels are assigned with (...)

Consumer Ethics: The Possible Effects of Terrorism and Civil Unrest on the Ethical Values of Consumers. [REVIEW]Mohammed Y. A. Rawwas, Scott J. Vitell & Jamal A. Al-Khatib - 1994 - Journal of Business Ethics 13 (3):223 - 231.
Research investigating the consumer's ethical beliefs, ideologies and orientation has been limited. Additionally, despite the repeated call in the literature for cross cultural research, virtually no studies have examined the ethical beliefs and ideologies of consumers from cultures other than those in North America. This study partially fills this gap in the literature by investigating the ethical beliefs, preferred ethical ideology, and degree of Machiavellianism of consumers from Egypt and Lebanon. The results indicate that consumers in Lebanon, which has been (...)

Examining the Impact of Ethical Leadership and Organizational Justice on Employees’ Ethical Behavior: Does Person–Organization Fit Play a Role?Hussam Al Halbusi, Kent A. Williams, Hamdan O. Mansoor, Mohammed Salah Hassan & Fatima Amir Hammad Hamid - 2020 - Ethics and Behavior 30 (7):514-532.
ABSTRACT Leadership studies on corporate ethical behavior and practices have grown considerably, contributing significant knowledge on ethical leadership challenges that are organizational and industry focused. However, complex socio-ecological systems are placing pressure on organizational culture and old patterns of leadership behavior that play a role in organizational justice. In this study, we argue that scholars of business ethics must consider the role of organizational justice and use person-organization fit. To address this, our study investigates the mediating effect of organizational justice (...)

    Fundamental Results of Conformable Sturm-Liouville Eigenvalue Problems.Mohammed Al-Refai & Thabet Abdeljawad - 2017 - Complexity 2017:1-7.
We suggest a regular fractional generalization of the well-known Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problems. The suggested model consists of a fractional generalization of the Sturm-Liouville operator using conformable derivative and with natural boundary conditions on bounded domains. We establish fundamental results of the suggested model. We prove that the eigenvalues are real and simple and the eigenfunctions corresponding to distinct eigenvalues are orthogonal and we establish a fractional Rayleigh Quotient result that can be used to estimate the first eigenvalue. Despite the fact (...)
