In diesem Buch erscheint Kants Moralphilosophie in neuem Licht. Kants Bestimmung und Begründung des Moralprinzips wird gegen das Gros der bisherigen Forschung als konsistente Argumentation auf hohem Niveau aufgeschlüsselt. Das gut lesbare Buch klärt die Grundbegriffe von Kants Moralphilosophie und lässt sich als Kommentar zu deren als besonders schwierig empfundenen Teilen benutzen.

*******Résume en français plus bas****** Karl Kraus’s favourable and conceptually complex comments of the portrait drawings byOskar Kokoschka in 1910 put us on the trail of a host of different phenomena of pictorial representation. Based on close-readings of several aphorisms by Kraus and drawings by Kokoschka, I suggest that there is something like realistic distortion and that the traditional concepts of style cannot account for all essential stylistic variations that are important in pictures. I argue that we need to introduce (...) the concept of subject specific style. This must be distinguished from other concepts such as signature style. I try to show how these conceptual distinctions are connected to the difference in representational range displayed by media that are based on traces, like photography, and by media based on testimony, like drawing or writing. *********** Résumé En 1910, Oskar Kokoschka produit une série de dessins pour la revue expressionniste berlinoise Der Sturm. L’un des portraits représente le satiriste Karl Kraus, un autre l’architecte Adolf Loos. Au même moment, Kraus fait paraître une série d’aphorismes qui commentent le travail de Kokoschka. Kraus part du travail de Kokoschka pour arriver à des principes généraux sur la représentation picturale. Une analyse des réflexions de l’écrivain et des deux dessins faits par Kokoschka nous permet non seulement de mieux comprendre comment un dessin peut saisir le caractère d’un modèle au-delà du physique, mais aussi de forger des concepts pour enrichir les notions de style traditionnelles. Nous soutenons dans notre article qu’il faut introduire l’idée d’un style à l’oeuvre pour compléter les notions de style habituelles.Le style à l’oeuvre peut être spécifique au sujet traité. Nous montrons en particulier comment le dessin permet des distorsions réalistes, difficiles à obtenir dans des médias basés sur la trace comme la photographie. (shrink)

In this article, I try to show that the question of what the “first proposition” in Groundwork I is can be answered by textual evidence. At the end of paragraph 15 of GMS I, Kant recapitulates the “first proposition”. It is: “Eine Handlung aus Pflicht sondert den Einfluss der Neigung ganz ab.“ (“An action from duty puts aside entirely the influence of inclination.”). It is also shown that this “proposition” summarizes an important result of Kant’s argument in the preceding paragraphs (...) 8–13 and is presupposed by the “second proposition” and by Kant’s whole argument in the paragraphs 14 and 15, which he recapitulates in the last sentence of paragraph 15. This work represents Niklas Luhmann's definitive application of systems theory to the understanding of law. In it Luhmann reviews past attempts to create a theory of law and argues they all fail to capture how law operates in modern society. He presents an alternative, critical theory through analysing law as a system of communication.

Mimicry of appearance or of facial, vocal, or gestural expressions emerges frequently among members of different species. When such mimicry directly relates to affective aspects of an interaction, researchers talk about “emotional mimicry”. Emotional mimicry has been amply documented but its functionality is still debated. Why and when do people mimic the expressions of others, who benefits, the mimicker or the mimicked, and how do they benefit? Which processes underlie emotional mimicry? Is it completely automatic and unconscious or can it (...) be deliberate and conscious? The current Theory Section addresses these questions from different theoretical perspectives. The invited article by Hess and Fischer focused on the role of mimicry in social regulation and social bonding. The invited comment by Krets and Akyüz highlights information gathering and prediction in social interaction. The invited comment by Bernhold and Giles emphasizes vocal communication and its role in interpersonal accommodation. In this editorial, I propose the different theoretical perspectives may be integrated by assuming a multilevel appraisal and response generation mechanism. I also suggest that emotional mimicry research may be broadened by including social learning, vocal imitation, interspecies comparisons, and affective computing approaches. (shrink)

En el presente artículo el autor se encara con la célebre y muy diversamente interpretada tesis de Hegel en torno al fin del arte como modo supremo de captar la verdad o el espíritu. En esta confrontación, el autor intenta penetrar el sentido que tiene la modernidad, y no sólo el arte moderno, en el contexto de la filosofía hegeliana del arte. En la dilucidación de tal sentido, el autor gana una valoración decisiva del concepto hegeliano de “subjetividad”, como concepto (...) fundacional e identificador de la modernidad. Sitúa en esta concepción el horizonte especulativo desde el cual la idea del fin del arte, lejos de ser la proclamación de su muerte, se auto presenta como momento inmanente en la realización de la subjetividad libre y espiritualizada. El fin del arte sería, así. el comienzo de la historia de la libertad humana, el comienzo de la existencia humana propiamente dicha. (shrink)

El articulo se concentra en la forma clásica, o sea el mundo de la cultura griega. Su clasicismo es un (...) "punto medio", porque se ubica en el reino de la belleza, entre la naturaleza y la libertad. A pesar de su belleza, el arte de la forma clásica para nosotros modernos es un arte del pasado, es un arte para la libertad de un ciudadano de la polis pero no lo es para la libertad individualizada y universal de un ciudadano cosmopolita. El pirronismo antiguo semeja una esfinge, pretende ser una forma de vida y de pensamiento, una narración sobre la forma individual de vida y una argumentación contra todo dogmatismo. El pirronismo, por tanto, por razón de su renuncia a toda afirmación tiene de entrada una tendencia a la narración y es un trabajador de la frontera entre filosofía y literatura. En sus lecciones de Estética, Hegel interpreta la comicidad y el humor como formas de la skepsis poético-literaria y ve en (...) la novela moderna humorística la forma suprema del arte. Hegel construye, a la luz del Tristram Shandy de Laurence Sterne un paradigma de la fantasía humorística, "negativa", antidogmática y de la moderna subjetividad como superación de la libertad pirrónica del carácter. La subjetividad moderna exige una skepsis consumada, de lo contrario no se tiene un concepto de subjetividad, pero exige asimismo el humor libre, de lo contrario no se tiene una idea justa del ser libre. En este sentido la modernidad es una época de la skepsis poética y filosófica, al mismo tiempo una época de inclusión del escepticismo. El Tristram Shandy de Sterne aparece como el prototipo de la autorrelación representante, la Fenomenología del Espíritu de Hegel como modelo de la autorrelación pensante. La subjetividad humorística y pensante podrían ser entonces, los paradigmas de la literatura y la filosofía modernas, en las cuales el pirronismo es "superado”. (shrink)

Sin una explicación del significado constitutivo de la estructura del pensamiento escéptico, no es posible una interpretación adecuada del desarrollo del pensamiento del Hegel temprano. Particularmente la recepción del pirronismo de Sexto Empírico, así como las lecturas paralelas de Sexto y Platón, tuvieron una importancia decisiva para la comprensión hegeliana de la negatividad para la génesis del proyecto de un “escepticismo que se consuma a sí mismo” de la Fenomenología. El texto correspondiente a esta temática es el ensayo sobre el (...) escepticismo de la época de Jena, en el que se encuentra en especial una original interpretación teórica de los cinco tropos de Agripa, el núcleo de la isosthenía pirrónica.
