    Representations of MV-algebras by sheaves.Anna R. Ferraioli & Ada Lettieri - 2011 - Mathematical Logic Quarterly 57 (1):27-43.
In this paper, inspired by methods of Bigard, Keimel, and Wolfenstein , we develop an approach to sheaf representations of MV-algebras which combines two techniques for the representation of MV-algebras devised by Filipoiu and Georgescu and by Dubuc and Poveda . Following Davey approach , we use a subdirect representation of MV-algebras that is based on local MV-algebras. This allowed us to obtain: a representation of any MV-algebras as MV-algebra of all global sections of a sheaf of local MV-algebras on (...)

The measurement problem in quantum mechanics.Alessio Giuseppe Ferraioli & Canio Noce - 2019 - Science and Philosophy 7 (1):41-58.
In this paper, we discuss the importance of measurement in quantum mechanics and the so-called measurement problem. Any quantum system can be described as a linear combination of eigenstates of an operator representing a physical quantity; this means that the system can be in a superposition of states that corresponds to different eigenvalues, i.e., different physical outcomes, each one incompatible with the others. The measurement process converts a state of superposition in a well-defined state. We show that, if we describe (...)

Algebraically closed MV-algebras and their sheaf representation.Antonio Di Nola, Anna R. Ferraioli & Giacomo Lenzi - 2013 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 164 (3):349-355.
In this paper we first provide a new axiomatization of algebraically closed MV-algebras based on McNaughtonʼs Theorem. Then we turn to sheaves, and we represent algebraically closed MV-algebras as algebras of global sections of sheaves, where the stalks are divisible MV-chains and the base space is Stonean.

    Virtual Reality and Aesthetic Experience.Roberto Diodato - 2022 - Philosophies 7 (2):29.
The problem of aesthetic experience in a virtual environment could be reformulated as: what can we learn about aesthetics from the perspective of ‘aesthetic experience in virtual environments’, given the specific nature of such an environment? The discourse goes in circles, because it is always from theories elaborated in the field of the so-called ‘real’ that we develop the difference, but it is a process typically philosophical, that, on the other hand, can make sense only if it can be shown (...)

    Aura, vita, morte.Roberto Diodato - 2013 - Rivista di Estetica 52:53-67.
The essay concerns the relationship between the notion of aura and the notion of digital image. The digital image is not simply image-of, not only mimesis of an, identifiable or not, thing or image, and so it does not have a simulacral essence. On the other hand, it is not even an icon or an original image; it is rather a genetic relational form belonging to a multiple rendering system. The digital image is not exactly “image”, but rather body-image, because (...)

Image, Art and Virtuality: Towards an Aesthetics of Relation.Roberto Diodato - 2021 - Springer Verlag.
This book investigates the ontological state of relations in a unique way. Starting with the notion of system, it shows that the system can be understood as a relational structure, and that relations can be assessed within themselves, with no need to transform relations in elements. “Relations” are understood in contrast to “relational property”: without a relation there is no identity, therefore no existence. What allows us to do that without hypostatizing the relation, and without immediately taking it simply as (...)

  22. Interfacce virtuali.Roberto Diodato - 2012 - Aisthesis: Pratiche, Linguaggi E Saperi Dell’Estetico 5.
The essay concerns the notion of interface. From theoretical point of view, interface is a virtual environment develops in the interaction with a user; in this context “virtual” means the dynamic configuration of forces which have the intrinsic tendency of being actualised in a form not entirely pre-existing. The virtual in this case has to do with Aesthetics and its present status as discipline, since it is a field of continuous formal invention and of a particular type of interaction author/user (...)

    Logos estetico in Gentile.Roberto Diodato - 2017 - Aisthesis: Pratiche, Linguaggi E Saperi Dell’Estetico 10 (2):65-71.
Through an analysis of some crucial passages from Giovanni Gentile’s Sistema di logica come teoria del conoscere, Filosofia dell’arte, Introduzione alla filosofia and Genesi e struttura della società, the paper discusses the role and significance of the notion of “feeling” in Gentile’s philosophy and offers some insights into the idea of “aesthetic logos”, synthesis of logical immediacy and phenomenological immediacy, exhibition of a radical negativity beyond any conceptual understanding.

    Politicizzazione dell’arte.

The theme of Aesthetics in Present Future concerns the new chances the arts have and the deep changes they are undergoing, due to the new media, and the digital world in which we are growingly immersed. That this world is to be understood from an aesthetic point of view, become clear if we think of how much of what we produce, and observe and study is offered through images in particular and perceptual means in general.

The Intimate Relationship Between the McNaughton and the Chinese Remainder Theorems for MV-algebras.Eduardo J. Dubuc & Yuri Poveda - 2013 - Studia Logica 101 (3):483-485.
We show the intimate relationship between McNaughton Theorem and the Chinese Remaindner Theorem for MV-algebras. We develop a very short and simple proof of McNaughton Theorem. The arguing is elementary and right out of the definitions. We exhibit the theorem as just an instance of the Chinese theorem. Since the variety of MV-algebras is arithmetic, the Chinese theorem holds for MV-algebras. However, to make this paper self-contained and entirely elementary, we include a simple proof of this theorem inspired in (...) and Lettieri (Math Logic Q 1:27–43, 2011). (shrink)

This work suggests how much human sciences can learn from a booklet almost all cultures know, The Little Prince. It stimulates to read them in their anthropological aspects of behavior facing alterity, highlighting its value without proposing it as educational element to homogenize the different. The reflection is thus focused on the demolishing and lasting effects of European culture during its colonization of American and African people. The contribution ends with Ferraioli and De Vitoria's considerations on a society based (...)

Diritti fondamentali: un dibattito teorico.Luigi Ferrajoli & Ermanno Vitale - 2001 - Roma: Laterza. Edited by Ermanno Vitale.
