Neural correlates of emotion-label vs. emotion-laden word processing in late bilinguals: evidence from an ERP study.Dong Tang, Xueqiao Li, Yang Fu, Huili Wang, Xueyan Li, Tiina Parviainen & Tommi Kärkkäinen - forthcoming - Cognition and Emotion.
The brain processes underlying the distinction between emotion-label words (e.g. happy, sad) and emotion-laden words (e.g. successful, failed) remain inconclusive in bilingualism research. The present study aims to directly compare the processing of these two types of emotion words in both the first language (L1) and second language (L2) by recording event-related potentials (ERP) from late Chinese-English bilinguals during a lexical decision task. The results revealed that in the early word processing stages, the N170 emotion effect emerged only for L1 (...)

Abstract:The Confucian classic Great Learning (Daxue 大學) articulates in a sequence eight human aims for the good life. There have been various interpretations of the relations of these aims. This essay problematizes these interpretations and proposes a solution that the sequence of these Confucian human aims is developmentally temporal yet not stage-exclusive. I illustrate such an account by drawing on the model of Erik Erikson's developmental theory. Accordingly, while there is a temporal progression in achieving these aims, they nevertheless should (...)

Differential tractography and correlation tractography are new tractography modalities to study neuronal changes in brain diseases, but their performances in detecting neuronal injuries are yet to be investigated in patients with mild traumatic brain injury. Here we investigated the white matter injury in mTBI patients using differential and correlation tractography. The diffusion MRI was acquired at 33 mTBI patients and 31 health controls. 7 of the mTBI patients had one-year follow-up scans, and differential tractography was used to evaluate injured fiber (...)

Effects and Moderators of Triple P on the Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Problems of Children: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.Na Li, Jin Peng & Yi Li - 2021 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
Background: Social, emotional, and behavioral problems in childhood are key predictors of persistent problem behaviors throughout the life courses of individuals. Early parental intervention training, as an important preventive measure, plays a critical role in improving the social, emotional, and behavioral development of children.Method: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to analyze the intervention effects of the latest literature on Triple P, which is a multilevel system that provides treatment and prevention for children at risk of social, emotional, and (...)

Evolutionary Game Analysis of E-Commerce Intellectual Property Social Cogovernance with Collective Organizations.Ji Li & Chunming Xu - 2022 - Complexity 2022:1-13.
China’s E-commerce market is very active. Despite the impact of COVID-19, the market has ushered in major development opportunities. Alongside, the level of intellectual property protection in China is constantly improving. However, there are relatively few studies on intellectual property protection in the field of E-commerce. This study introduces the theory of social cogovernance and explores the construction of China’s E-commerce intellectual property protection system with the participation of collective organizations. Evolutionary game method is applied to model construction. Through numerical (...)

Education Level, Underemployment, and Health.Nan Li & Dan Wu - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
Under the dual background of underemployment and health inequality, this study empirically analyzes the impact of education level on underemployed workers’ health based on data from the 2016 China Labor-force Dynamics Survey. The results show that underemployment is significantly related to the decline of self-rated health, increased depressive tendencies, and the prevalence of illness over a certain period. The results indicate that underemployment can significantly reduce the health level of workers in both low and high education level groups. However, underemployment (...)

Efficiency Measurement and Heterogeneity Analysis of Chinese Cultural and Creative Industries: Based on Three-Stage Data Envelopment Analysis Modified by Stochastic Frontier Analysis.Mingxing Li, Hongzheng Sun, Fredrick Oteng Agyeman, Jialu Su & Weijun Hu - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
Industry sustainability plays a vital role in shaping the environment for cultural and creative business development. However, considering the influence of the external environment and random factors on the technical efficiency of cultural and creative industries with the inherent defects of the traditional data envelopment analysis model; this manuscript analyzed the operating efficiency of 56 cultural and creative enterprises using the three-stage DEA model from 2012 to 2018. An analysis of the results shows that differences in efficiency exist between stage (...)

    Existence of C 1 -Positive Solutions for a Class of Second-Order Impulsive Differential Equations.Hong Li - 2022 - Complexity 2022:1-8.
In this study, under some inequality conditions, necessary and sufficient conditions, using fixed-point theorem in cones, are established for the existence of C 1 -positive solutions for a class of second-order impulsive differential equations. Two examples are given in the last section to illustrate the abstract results.

Effects of Exercise on Parkinson’s Disease: A Meta-Analysis of Brain Imaging Studies.Jingwen Li, Jian Guo, Weijuan Sun, Jinjin Mei, Yiying Wang, Lihong Zhang, Jianyun Zhang, Jing Gao, Kaiqi Su, Zhuan Lv, Xiaodong Feng & Ruiqing Li - 2022 - Frontiers in Human Neuroscience 16.
BackgroundExercise is increasingly recognized as a key component of Parkinson’s disease treatment strategies, but the underlying mechanism of how exercise affects PD is not yet fully understood.ObjectiveThe activation likelihood estimation method is used to study the mechanism of exercise affecting PD, providing a theoretical basis for studying exercise and PD, and promoting the health of patients with PD.MethodsRelevant keywords were searched on the PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases. Seven articles were finally included according to the screening criteria, (...)

Exploration of Leisure Constraints Perception in the Context of a Pandemic: An Empirical Study of the Macau Light Festival.Xi Li, Jiamin Liu, Xinwei Su, Yinan Xiao & Changbin Xu - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
Individuals' capacity to participate in leisure activities is contingent upon their ability to overcome obstacles. It is worthwhile to investigate how individuals perceive constraints on their leisure activities participation during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study demonstrates that the connotation of leisure constraints during pandemic includes personal health concerns, shock on economic revenue, reduced freedom of travel, and inconvenience associated with epidemic prevention. Reduced travel freedom is the most influential factor on participation intentions, followed by personal health concerns. Significant differences in (...)
