Передбачення процесів у сфері вищої освіти та її якості має базуватись на вивченні цінностей університетської спільноти. Феноменологічна соціологія пропонує ретельно розроблену концепцію структур соціальної релевантності. Шюц розглядає теорію системи релевантності як частину теорії вибіркової активності розуму. Він розрізняє тематичну, інтерпретативну та мотиваційну релевантонсті, кожна з яких, як ми доводимо, має ціннісне значення. Соціальне передбачення потребує свого (...) не епістемологічного, але праксеологічного розв’язання. Вибір бажаного здійснюється індивідом у якості вибору із заданого, перед-даного, в рамках соціальної системи релевантності. Передбачення у сфері вищої освіти загалом і передбачення її якості зокрема якнайкраще відповідає характеристикам «кінцевої області значень» Шюца. Важливо усвідомлювати взаємопов’язаність систем індивідуальної та соціальної релевантності. Остання, завдяки, зокрема, механізму соціальної пам’яті, виступає щодо окремого індивіда як об’єктивна, апріорно задана. Якісно новий досвід не завжди надає продуктивні модифікації узвичаєних схем інтерпретації. Нерідко він призводить лише до руйнування існуючих схем, до створення віртуальної реальності, пропонуючи псевдо-системи релевантностей, тобто системи смислових зв’язків, які не лише не мають співвіднесення з реальною поведінкою людей, але й перешкоджають такій поведінці. Академічні цінності мають виростати з повсякденного досвіду учасників університетської спільноти: лише у такому разі вони здобувають шанси на втілення у майбутньому. (shrink)

Change-blindness occurs when large changes are missed under natural viewing conditions because they occur simultaneously with a brief visual disruption, perhaps caused by an eye movement, a flicker, a blink, or a camera cut in a film sequence. Rawls hoped to meet these critics on their own ground by accepting that a comprehensive liberal position cannot be vindicated and by showing how a less ambitious, merely political, version of liberalism could be vindicated. Rather surprisingly, T.H.Green's ideas on women and the family are as neglected today as they were immediately after his death in 1882, when his thought was first interpreted for a wider public by his colleagues and friends.1 Silence on such matters in the 1880s is not remarkable. It is odd, however, that it persists today, despite recent intense concern with the history of women and the family, including their place in political thought, and despite reviving philosophical interest in the British (...) Idealists and readiness to credit them with a significant impact on politics, education and social work. It has often been remarked that Green's political ideas have much in common superficially with those of John Stuart Mill, since their values and precepts are very similar, although the substructure of their thought is utterly different. Nevertheless it has altogether escaped notice that this is equally true of their ideas on women, marriage and family relationships. Today Mill's fabled feminism easily appears limited and imperceptive, and the priority he gave to the parliamentary vote strangely simplistic. Did Green show any greater realism and understanding? Did he practise as well as preach real equality between men and women, in private as well as public life? In short, what precisely was Green's position on 'the woman question'�? (shrink)

The article devoted to the analysis of advertising texts in terms of both diachrony and synchrony. Advertising texts relating to the texts of the mass media carry out several communicative and pragmatic functions in the modern society. Evolution of this type of text indicates that without advertising the successful activity of producers of goods and services in a market economy is unthinkable. On the extensive empirical material borrowed from the German press, various sub-types of advertising texts are established, a number (...) of both linguistic and non-linguistic means used in modern advertising for the realization of its purposes, including manipulative ones, are revealed. In order to achieve their goal, copywriters tend to appeal to a number of social values. Despite the fact that the main pragmatic purpose of advertising is updated with the help of morphological means, specific syntactic constructions, and lexical units, the non-verbal component plays a significant role in realizing the impact on recipients. Modern advertising occupies one of the leading places in the media, being the most mobile and dynamic texts. Since many linguistic and non-linguistic means are used in them for manipulative purposes, one can in some cases talk about so-called hidden advertising. The analysis showed that the main principle of constructing an advertising text is the tendency to the apparent simplicity of information delivery. However, in reality advertising is built on much more complex principles, which initially assume not to resort to an objective description of the product or service. It is established that the advertising texts are actively studied from the position of a number of modern scientific branches. They are not only medialinguistics and the sociology of mass communication, but also communicative linguistics, theories of discourse, psycho- and sociolinguistics. (shrink)
