El trabajo, realizado principalmente en base a fuentes primarias, procura dar cuenta del transito del sector obrero minero Boliviano -núcleo proletario central del siglo pasado- desde la aplicación de las reformas estructurales del año 85, cuando se cierran las principales minas estatales, a la actualidad. Durante el “evismo”, la acción colectiva del sector minero fue central para forzar la nacionalización de la principal reserva estañífera del país, trayendo consigo una nueva elite de gestión ministerial en el área. A su turno, (...) presentamos el recorrido trazado en tiempos recientes por la antes fortísima Central Obrera Boliviana. Su carácter opositor en relación con los gobiernos neoliberales encontró una línea de continuidad para con la actual gestión de gobierno. Sin embargo, esta perspectiva no ha sido la dominante, por primera vez en su historia el ente matriz de los trabajadores se ha subordinado al campo de articulación popular comandado por el indigenismo. This paper offers two competing accounts of normative requirements, each of which purports to explain why some—but not all—requirements are normative in the sense of being related to normative reasons in some robust way. According to the reasons-sensitive view, normative requirements are those and only those which are sensitive to normative reasons. On this account, normative requirements are second-order statements about what there is conclusive reason to do, in the broad sense of the term. According to the reasons-providing view—which I (...) attribute to John Broome—normative requirements are those and only those which constitute or provide normative reasons. I argue that the reasons-providing view is susceptible to two serious objections. First, the view generates an explanatory gap. Secondly, the view is implausible. I argue that these two objections give us reason to prefer the reasons-sensitive view of normative requirements over the reasons-providing view. (shrink)

The economic crisis happening across the world over the last few years describes a range of interdependencies and interactions,and has highlighted the fundamentalf laws of neoclassical economic theory: its unedifying focus on prediction and, above all, its inability to explain how the economy really works. As such, it is increasingly recognised that economic phenomena cannot be exclusively investigated as being derived from deterministic, predictable and mechanistic dynamics. Instead, a new approach is required by which history-dependence, organic and ever-evolving processes are (...) also accounted for. As this view implies new challenges and opportunities for policy, we will focus our attention on innovative components of Complexity Theory for the study of economics and the evaluation of public policies. Beretta, dans l'article auquel nous réagissons ici, considérait comme étant une question encore ouverte ce qu'est la valeur doctrinale de la condamnation à l'abjuration imposée à Galilée en 1633, et soutenait une double thèse à cet égard: une censure d'hérésie a été formellement appliquée à la doctrine héliocentrique, et une telle censure, prononcée par le juge suprême de la foi, acquiert valeur d'acte de magistère - le terme 'infaillibilité' est absent, mais la problématique en est toute proche -. Dans (...) une lecture cursive de la cinquantaine de pages de l'article, nous relevons de multiples erreurs de lecture des textes originaux ou des interprétations erronées, telles qu'elles invalident entièrement la thèse de Beretta. We show how to interpret weak Kőnig's lemma in some recently defined theories of nonstandard arithmetic in all finite types. Two types of interpretations are described, with very different verifications. The celebrated conservation result of Friedman's about weak Kőnig's lemma can be proved using these interpretations. We also address some issues concerning the collecting of witnesses in herbrandized functional interpretations.
