    In this paper I consider how thinking emerges out of human infants' relatedness towards the personal and non-personal world.     : We question the claim, common since Duhem, that sixteenth century astronomy, and especially the Wittenberg interpretation of Copernicus, was instrumentalistic rather than realistic.
